The client wanted to create a usable private space that respected the formal lines of the period architecture, considered the southern aspect, provided a richness is texture and colour, enhance the arrival experience and be a parents retreat.
OUR SOLUTION
The space was formalised using traditional materials in a contemporary way. We introduced a water feature as the focal point of the space, the sound of moving water providing ‘white noise’ background for private conversations. The canopied seating provides a retreat for contemplation and the space to flip through the pages of a good book.
