THE TASK
The clients wanted to create a modern minimalist garden in sympathy with their new architect designed residence. It was also to include large useable areas for entertaining and family recreation. A landscape with a strong statement was to be created, one that matched the existing architecture and also included a low maintenance garden, swimming pool and a large paved entertaining area.
OUR SOLUTION
Planting is strong and simple using a minimal palette to reflect the modern design. A striking entrance statement was created where the entry is through a formal copse of Ornamental Pear trees. The use of synthetic grass as well as reducing maintenance unifies the landscape areas and helps provide a balance to the architectural scale. All landscape treatments are simple and proportional to the built form. The sandstone banding, the climbing structure adjacent to the pool, copse planting are all part of a strong landscape statement that supports and creates a synergy with the architectural form.
